# Drag file out of plugin

I would like to be able to drag a file out of my plugin and into the DAW. I’m thinking of something like the feature in Serum when you can drag a rendered sound out of the plugin directly into the DAW. I understand this is just a file path, so how would I go about “attaching” a file to the cursor? Thanks!

This is not implemented in iPlug2 unfortunately, it would require quite a bit of work

Hi @olilarkin! I would like to know if this has been worked on since the last time snfk asked the question. I think this would be a great feature for iplug. As a reference, JUCE already implements it at - [JUCE: DragAndDropContainer Class Reference](https://docs.juce.com/master/classDragAndDropContainer.html). Maybe it is on the roadmap?
