Create MIDI clips in the DAW

Hi there. Is there some way to create a set or an array of MIDI events such as Note On and Note Off and then use that set/array to print the MIDI notes to a clip in the DAW? For eg, if I m using Ableton Live OR Bitwig, could I select an existing MIDI clip in the DAW and then write the MIDI data that i had in the set/array so that those notes are in the clip now.
